This tiny thumbnail dart frog is a vibrant red-orange with extremities of blue-green and tan with overlying black spots.  Somewhat shy, this frog often sits within bromeliads and can be a prolific producer of offspring in favorable conditions.  Males call in a short chirping call, often in late mornings and later in evenings.  This tiny frog requires small prey such as Drosophila melanogaster and springtails.
